Our production process
Walk through our workshop, and you'll meet the artists, designers, and tailors that bring our handmade girls' dresses and products to life. Discover the care that goes into each step of creating the high-quality clothing your daughter deserves.
We start by taking a mental journey back to childhood summers in India, where we spent hours playing in mango orchards and drawing pictures in the sun-soaked veranda. We use these memories to inspire our designs, sketching and painting them on paper before they become new Little Paisley People patterns.
We take these designs to our block maker, who transfers and hand-carves them onto small teak wood slabs. Each color in the design becomes a separate block that we will apply individually to complete the pattern.
We then take these blocks to the printer, where they are stamped individually onto our fabrics. Colors are stamped one by one, one square at a time, to complete our artisan-produced designs.
Once the pattern is complete, each piece of fabric is cured and sun-dried. The Indian sun seals in all of our artisans' hard work and ensures each piece is ready to create your handmade children's clothes.
Next, the fabrics come to our studio, where the pattern master cuts each garment individually. We apply care and precision to create perfectly sized clothing, each piece a unique work of art.
These cut fabrics are then sewn by our in-house tailors to complete our designs and create a finished item ready for purchase. We avoid assembly lines, ensuring one tailor crafts each garment from start to finish to create handmade children's clothes to be proud of.
In the last step, we iron and gently place your piece into our beautiful Little Paisley People packaging to reach you in perfect condition, traveling with the same love and passion that we put into making it.
